I’m not really sure what to expect from Fastlane if I’m honest. I assume the wrestling itself will be good, but I also think the show will almost exclusively be used to set up Wrestlemania and be robbed of any of its own importance.

Other than a couple of matches, I think it’s pretty easy to call as well (watch me get it all wrong now). I’m still taking a back seat on wrestling right now, you may have noticed I didn’t bother reviewing Elimination Chamber, and in honesty not that much is grabbing my attention in this show. I find myself being rather negative, but that’s not intentional. Wrestling has just worn me down over the years…

The main event obviously will be very interesting, but I think it will be over booked nonsense. Assuming they don’t just have it as a squash match. God I hope they don’t do that.

Rich Swann & Akira Tozawa vs.Brian Kendrick & Noam Dar

Pre-Show tag team matches tend to end with a face team victory, but really who cares either way? I’m sorry to be so negative about the Cruiserweights, but they’re doing nothing for me.

Winners: Rich Swann & Akira Tozawa

Sami Zayn vs. Samoa Joe

20170215_fastlane_zaynsamoa-43f976a166046162517a9d25c740c9bbSamoa Joe is on a tear since moving up to the main roster and there is simply no way I can see him losing his first PPV match.

Sami Zayn can take a loss better than anybody too, so no harm done. It’s weird to think that Zayn’s gimmick these days is ‘guy with big heart who loses matches’.

Winner: Samoa Joe

The Club (c) vs. Enzo Amore & Big Cass

At the Royal Rumble Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, The Club, finally won the tag team title. About God damn time am I right?! Even with the titles I still think the pair are being booked terribly though. Why on earth where they getting involved in Roman Reigns’ air space. They’re lucky he isn’t the tag team champions now.

20170220_fastlane_tagteam-6d931ba09870ef4b0872e67980c0ff06Enzo and Cass, who I’ve really gone off in the last 6 months mostly due to the fact that they are terrible people, are perpetual losers. They talk a big game and then lose. I think that will continue here.

Hopefully they will as well. The last thing WWE needs right now is face champions who are actually more despicable than the heels. But then, WWE has never been able to book good guys very well have they. Just look at Hulk Hogan, what an absolute prick of a character.

Winners: The Club

Sasha Banks vs. Nia Jax

To be honest this one could go either way. I can see Sasha getting her win back and I can see Nia Jax continuing to dominate. It really depends on if you think the Sasha Banks heel turn is coming after Wrestlemania or not. Frustration is the key to that story line I believe, so Jax has to win, plus if will help build her up even more.

Winner: Nia Jax

Bayley (c) vs. Charlotte Flair

20170215_fastlane_bayleychar-b0b64bdd7a93e2af2be84ab94a5c6e2cFastlane is a PPV. Charlotte always wins on PPV. Charlotte wins at the Fastlane PPV.

And that’s fine and all, no problem with that. Other than the fact that she loses her title every other week on Raw. So the entire idea of having a ‘streak’ is undermined and quite frankly looks stupid.

Also, I was assuming that Bayley would win the title and break ‘the streak’ at Wrestlemania. If she still goes ahead and does that, you’ve already blown all of the emotion a month earlier. So it’ll fall flat!

Winner: Charlotte Flair

Neville (c) vs.Jack Gallagher

The two best things about the Cruiserweight division go head to head at Fastlane. Neville wins, maybe via shenanigans. I think Neville’s title reign is going to be a very long one. Hopefully at least.

Winner: Neville

Roman Reigns vs. Braun Strowman

20170214_fastlane_romanstrowman-33576e6a413f0bdc13490a3903f902a5Braun Strowman stood tall at the end of Raw, which tends to mean Roman Reigns will win at the PPV. Personally I think that is the worst idea in the world. Strowman looks great right now and to feed him to Reigns would be a disaster for his character. Yes Strowman will have to lose eventually but not to Roman! Not now!

Best case scenario Strowman wins clean, second best scenario double count out or screwy finish to protect Strowman. What’s The Undertaker going to do in all this? Nothing?

Winner: Roman Reigns

Kevin Owens (c) vs. Goldberg

Well this is certainly a match we can all honestly say we thought we would never see. Kevin Owens verses Goldberg! That’s absolutely nuts. HOWEVER…

As much as I wish I could believe Kevin Owens will walk out of Fastlane with the championship, I just can’t. The only chance is if Brock Lesnar costs Goldberg the match. All I’m hoping for is a strong showing from Owens. He’s the future, don’t crush him too much WWE.

My only problem is that I don’t think Goldberg verses Brock Lesnar 3 needs a title on the line. Lesnar finally winning is big enough. Plus I think it would be awesome for a full-time star to take the title into Wrestlemania, after all, it’s been 3 years since that last happened!

Having Owens move down into the US Title picture to continue his feud with Jericho feels exactly that. A step down. WWE you’ve got two World Titles now, have the balls to make some new stars!

There is the slight possibility that Lesnar will cost Goldberg the title, as revenge but I think it’s just as likely Jericho costs Owens as well. End of the night, I think it’s going to be over booked madness and it’ll either be amazing, or rubbish.

Winner: Goldberg
