Logan Trailer

Well then. That’s some trailer.

I don’t do this very often, normally I keep my reviews/rambles for the full movies but this trailer got me so excited to see this film that I have to say something.

Logan is going to be the tenth instalment in the X-Men franchise, as well as the third and final solo Wolverine film. It will be based on the comic book series Old Man Logan by Mark Millar. The film is not just the final Wolverine film from the series but it also marks Hugh Jackman’s final performance, having appeared in every main entry in the X-Men series to date.

The problem with Wolverine is that he’s always been, well pretty much invulnerable. What Logan is going to do is humanise him, Wolverine will still be the bad ass character we all love but he’ll be at risk, he’ll have to fight, he’ll have to claw his way through situations (pun intended) and yes, he will be vulnerable! And that is what gives this film the potential to be so damn good. We already love the character and we already love Hugh Jackman but with this final film they get to tell an emotional story for his send off. I’ve got very high hopes, I’m not going to lie.

Now before I get carried away, yes it’s very possible to cut a terrible film together into an amazing trailer. It’s been done many, many times. Suicide Squad for example. But if Logan film continues the tone, the look and the potential emotional impact that it sets out here. Then this is going to be an amazing movie. It’s as simple as that.

I’ve been meaning to read Old Man Logan for a while now. I just bought it. Right this second.

Also, that shot of the claws going through that guys skull was brutal! Yes, more please.
