I still cant wrap my head around the fact that the long awaited Shield triple threat is happening at Battleground. I suppose with the recent brand split and I’m assuming second world title, this is the only chance that WWE are going to have for a long time to do it. Still, it’s a little odd.

I’m still not really watching wrestling again yet. I haven’t watched a Raw or Smackdown since Raw was live in London after ‘Mania and nothing has really peaked my interest in doing so again. That said, I have still watched the PPVs and will continue to do so. Even if I do skip the boring bits.

Anyway, I might do a review of the show tomorrow evening if it’s good enough or bad enough. I suppose that’s really been my issue with WWE recently, it’s just there. Bland, in offensive and not exciting. There are highlights I’m sure, but nothing to get me to watch three hours of Raw and two of Smackdown each week.

Enough rambling however! It’s time for my predictions!

Pre-Show: The Usos vs. Breezango (Tyler Breeze and Fandango)

Have these guys been feuding? I literally haven’t got a clue. I’d just assumed that Breezango and the Golden Truth were still having their ‘hilarious’ feud and skits. Maybe it is still going on and I’m just an idiot, who cares.

WWE don’t seem to care that much about either Breeze or Fandando, despite both being very talented (especially Breeze) so I can’t see them picking up a victory here. The only thing that has me doubting it is that The Usos haven’t been receiving the best responses recently. Maybe a heel turn is brewing for them as they’ve been bland babyfaces for sometime and that’s really been shown up since they teamed with Roman Reigns. Who passed on his fan favouritism very nicely.

Winners: The Usos

Becky Lynch vs. Natalya

Man, everyone just hates Becky Lynch don’t they? One after another they all turn on her. Maybe she’s a massive bitch secretly back stage and she’s not actually as lovely as we all think. Dun Dun Durrrr, mystery solved.

This is an interesting one, both women could do with a victory but who needs it more. Or rather, who needs it ever so slightly less.

With Natalya’s recent heel turn (that came of nowhere by the way) I’d say she needs it slightly more for it to be effective. That said, I can’t remember the last time Becky won a big match. So it might be her time.

Winner: Natalya

United States Championship: Rusev (c) vs. Zack Ryder

Zack Ryder must never know if he’s coming or going. Is he getting a push, is he losing every match, is he not even on TV. He’s done it all since ‘Mania. His victory at Wrestlemania was one of the few highlights from a slightly meh show, but he immediately had it all taken away. Since then, he’s lost a lot but suddenly finds himself with another title shot. It’s a little odd.

However, before you all get super excited about another Ryder title run. Hold your horses. Rusev’s got this. And rightly so, Rusev is forever on this tightrope of needing to look strong but is always susceptible to a slight gust of wind that destroys his momentum. Before he lost to John Cena a thousand times, he was one of the most entertaining aspects of the show, despite having to feud with Jack Swagger, Big Show and Mark Henry.

WWE, as they do, blew it when they broke him and Lana up and are still in the early stages of rebuilding him. A loss now would ruin everything they’ve done for him since the break up of the league of nations.

Winner: Rusev

Intercontinental Championship: The Miz (c) vs. Darren Young

I’m all for pushing new people, I’m all for one of those people being Darren Young. What I do have a problem is the baldfaced lie that is the statement of ‘make Darren Young great again’. AGAIN? AGAIN?!

Will WWE actually give the title to Young so soon? I’d be surprised, however. I’m sure Ryder is losing and I’m pretty sure Ambrose will retain. The tag titles and womens championship aren’t even being defended. Which means if The Miz wins as well, they’ll be zero title changes on this show. I know it’s a ‘B’ PPV but that doesn’t sound right in my head. So this might be the one which has the switch. That said…

Winner: The Miz

Sasha Banks & Mystery Partner vs. Charlotte & Dana Brooke

The big question for this match isn’t ‘who is going to win?’ it’s who is Sasha’s mystery partner going to be. A lot of people are expecting Bayley but I think they’ll be disappointed. Think about it, if Bayley makes the move to the main roster. Who is left on NXT? *Hard cut to Asuka standing alone in a room*. Nobody is the answer.

So it wont be Bayley. I am thinking it will be an NXT call up. Maybe Carmella?

That or Nikki Bella, she might be back soon. Actually, when is Emma due back? That would be kind of cool.

Mystery Partner: Not Bayley

Winners: Sasha Banks & Mystery Partner

The New Day vs. The Wyatt Family

During the Brand Split the Wyatt Family got broken up, which I personally find to be incredibly bizarre. Surely this was the chance to make them truly dominate on one of the shows? Oh well, WWE don’t like good things.

The Tag Titles aren’t on the line, so New Day can safely lose without dropping the belts. Which means The Wyatt Family can safely win, without it meaning a thing. It’s so weird! This could have been the catalyst for Bray to go onto something again. Odd.

Winner: The Wyatt Family

Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn

Is this feud ending? Probably not. So does it matter who wins or loses? Not really.

You’re going to get a good match, hopefully great and either man would benefit from the victory. However, neither would be damaged by losing. It’s the perfect system!

That said, please don’t have these guys fight literally forever. That would eventually suck and WWE really don’t want to ruin these two. They’re history is just too good.

Winner: Sami Zayn

John Cena, Enzo Amore & Big Cass vs. The Club

John Cena lost the first match to AJ Styles, so you know what that means? John Cena wins the rest of matches in the feud, huzzah! I do however appreciate the fact that while this can be counted as the 2nd match in the series, it’s got a completely different feel so that’s nice.

Hopefully they don’t have Gallows and Anderson look really weak again like they have in the past though, but I won’t hold my breath.

Winners: John Cena, Enzo Amore & Big Cass

WWE Title: Dean Ambrose (c) vs. Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns

Are they bringing in another world title? Who knows! Probably though. I don’t want one though, it dilutes there importance and the last thing we need is another Jack Swagger world title run. Am I right? Yes.

I’m going with Dean Ambrose for this one and I’ll tell you why:

1. It would be really dumb to take the title from him so quickly. He may not have been meant to win it so soon, but with the whole Roman Reigns being a bad little boy we’ll never know.

2. You can’t give the world title back to Reigns so soon after his suspension, it would be an absolute joke.

3. Ambrose is on Smackdown, Rollins and Reigns are on Raw. So if Ambrose won, there would be no world title on Raw (I’m assuming he wont defend it on both brands, though that would be great)  meaning they could continue their feud while crowning a new champion. It kind of books itself.

Winner: Dean Ambrose
